I love TED talks, this is a great explanation of the relationship between our physiology and performance.

In the talk Dr Alan Watkins mentions the survival instinct and explains the fight/flight/freeze survival instinct and demonstrates how to override it to create a positive emotional state:-

Heart

Everyday

Breathing is the first place to go to change your state of mind.

It brings oxygen to the brain and starts the process of clearer thinking and better choice’s.
