I adore reading and I like to share the inspirational, positive and thought provoking things that I read. My Facebook note Switch off the Telly & Read (Watch less TELL-LIE-VISION) lists the benefits of switching off the TV & computer games in order to spend more time reading.
Thank you for reading my blog posts I really appreciate hearing your comments, a friend recently paid me a lovely compliment, she told me that ‘my book’ (facebook) is like a magazine, because it is interesting to dip into.
I do tend to write where my train of thought takes me and, like my Google browser, I have so many things open, I sometimes crash! ~ joking aside, reading helps to broaden and open the mind don’t you think?

My favorite blog is both concise and thought provoking, it is by best selling author Seth Godin
When I see Seth’s blog post pop into my email in box I look forward to reading it as its short, to the point and makes me think. Being concise is something I am working on!
It has been claimed that women speak about 20,000 words a day – 13,000 more than the average man – and scientists say a higher amount of the Foxp2 protein is the reason women are more chatty.
I have hundreds of half-finished books! having spent many happy lunch breaks in Waterstones and killed many a half hour waiting for a train in the 2 for 1 section of WHSmith in Waterloo.
I buy most of my books from Amazon, nothing like the feel and smell of a new book, breaking the spine and all that. However, in the interests of the many trees I have devoured and to make more space in my office, I have finally decided to get myself up to date and buy an Amazon Kindle.
My world is becoming digital and yet there will always be books I want to own in paperback and hardback. Last week I pledged £25 for a 180 page coffee table signed first edition hardback book called Furniture For The Future – A great Eco-design book
I decided to invest in the Kindle Paperwhite 3G and set myself up an associate link so if you buy any item on Amazon by clicking here I will get some credit, for which I thank you very much in advance.
Reading for fun is healthy and increases vocabulary, reading is thought provoking and stimulates debate. Are you in a book club?

I have a vast library of personal development books, have you ever been on a training and never looked at the books again?, the joke goes, do self development not shelf development!, my aim with this blog is to do something constructive with the knowledge by sharing with you ~ I believe that actions speak louder than words…
‘What you learn is irrelevant. Knowledge is not power. Applied knowledge is power.’……..powerful line by Nick James
I have also been building up a list of my favorite books in Pinterest and aim to add to this
In the pinterest link I include some of the books that I quote from in my work at the crime reduction charity.
I own many other books and value my reading time. I filter out books with little relevance or substance and whilst my library is extensively about business, leadership, personal growth and management development; I recognise that reading fiction just for pleasure is also essential to well-being and work/life balance.
If you are into email marketing, then this is a very informative link
